Dining & Romance in Lynton & Lynmouth
Lynton & Lynmouth is the perfect place for a…
The charming and historic towns of Lynton & Lynmouth can be one of those places.
Lynton is nestled high in the cliffs overlooking the Bristol Channel along the North Devon coast and offers spectacular sea views. The delightful harbour town of Lynmouth sits serenely below at the mouth of the cascading waters of the River Lyn.
Imagine walking along the winding South West Coastal Path, with its breathtaking views, to the beautiful and ancient Valley of Rocks. The perfect place to throw down a rug to enjoy a picnic, glass of bubbly or a flask of your favourite tea. Sitting peacefully watching the sunset or sunrise in the Valley of Rocks can be quite magnificent and awe-inspiring.
It’s easy to see how world-renowned writers and poets like Samuel Taylor Coleridge, William Wordsworth and R. D. Blackmoor found their inspiration for romance in Exmoor. Once you start wandering amongst the rolling hills, along sheer cliffs and alongside the tumbling rivers of Watersmeet and the Doone Valley, time itself seems to stand still.
Rising above Lynton is the beautiful Hollerday Hill.
Explore some of area’s beautiful National Trust stately homes and picturesque gardens. Alternatively, imagine the two of you exploring the moors on horseback or a jeep safari? It’s an incredible way to see the very best of Exmoor’s landscape and unique wildlife, including wild ponies, red deer, rare butterflies and our elusive otters.
Why not head out to sea and explore Exmoor’s incredible coastline by boat, kayak or paddleboard? Or if you’re real thrill-seekers take the plunge and go coasteering!
