Seaview Villa is a prominent grade II listed building, located on the River Lyn within the heart of Lynmouth village. Surrounded by the wilds of Exmoor, and on the South West Coastal Path, there is a wealth of exciting adventures and exhilarating experiences on the doorstep

Finding Inspiration in the wilds of Exmoor…

Claudine & David are passionate about property and recently relocated with their young daughter Imogen, from South West London. They fell in love with Seaview Villa, a 300-year-old listed building, and set about to rediscover the property’s hidden beauty, restoring its indisputable magic. Not forgetting their London sensibilities, they have managed to inject a dose of townhouse charm into the renovation and enjoy the social aspect of hosting guests visiting the area.

“Having left behind our city lives, we embraced everything that the coast and the beautiful villages of Lynton & Lynmouth have to offer. Watersports, wild swimming, regattas, festivals, netball, yoga retreats, shanty singing, walks, jam nights, markets, fine dining …. you name it, there is nothing that doesn’t go on here. What a wonderful, vibrant, social community it is, and we are privileged to be a part of it!

Our journey to rehabilitate the villa’s seaside purpose has thrown up many challenges, some of which are ongoing, so don’t be surprised to find elements of the decor unfinished, or one or both of us up a ladder fixing finishing touches!

“Some people and places do that magical thing of creating an all-round glow of fulfilment…there were so many gestures of consideration and care…from the generous refreshments on arrival to chocolates on the thick, fluffy towels, crisp quality linen on super comfortable beds, and beautiful colours and sumptuous accents in the bedroom…Definitely do not turn the breakfast option – generous to the full, elegantly set out, and really delicious – kept us going until the late afternoon. Then there’s the location .. quite simply some of the best and most beautiful coastline in the UK!”
