Platinum Jubilee Celebration 2022

This is a big year for our beloved Queen Elizabeth II as she celebrates 70 years of service. The entire country will be going all out to celebrate this momentous occasion, let’s join the celebration … and not leave the planning until the 11th hour.

We would encourage each business to develop their own way of celebrating within their premises, or join in the the preparations for a bigger event.

Events and Activities ...

Lynton Sheepskin Shop – will be decorating their windows

Bunting & Flags – will be purchased for; Lynton Old Town, Lynmouth Street, Cliff Railway Area, Town Hall, Esplanade, Holman Park and Barbrook Garage Bridge Area.

Lynmouth Association – will have Union Jack bunting in Lynmouth Street and shops may distribute hand waving flags. And we would ask the shopkeepers if they would decorate their windows.

Lynton Old Town
– John Arbon is exploring the potential for a music/arts event with a stage at the bottom of Sinai Hill/Lydiate Lane

– Ronnie Moughton is discussing with highways about a road closure

– Tom Smith will be doing colour candy floss
– All eateries and shops will be dressed up

– Discussions were had about;
