Visit Lynton & Lynmouth Promo Leaflets 2022

Visit Lynton & Lynmouth Promotional Leaflets 2022

We’re printing and distributing some gorgeous new leaflets to promote Lynton & Lynmouth!

Visitors picking up the leaflet will experience a fresh new look, with brighter colours.  A new elevation diagram has been added. Hopefully it will help those that have never visited before understand the height difference between Lynton & Lynmouth.

We’re increased the promotion of our Walkers are Welcome status and added some references to the national trails that converge in Lynmouth.

20,000 leaflets will be printed and distributed to visitor hotspots and accommodation providers throughout North Devon.  5,000 leaflets will be made available in Lynton & Lynmouth for anyone that wants some for their business.

These can be collected after mid-February 2022 from the Exmoor National Park Centre in Lynmouth or Lynton Post Office.

This promotion continues with the aims and objectives set out in the Economic Plan by the Lyn Valley Coastal Community Team ..

A strange couple of years

It’s hard to establish the true value of the 20202 leaflets and whether or not they helped drive more visitors to our two towns.  The last two years of the CV-19 pandemic turned the entire world upside down.  Travel plans both local and global were thwarted by local and global lockdowns.

Once people were released from the first big lockdown of March 2020, combined with the halting of overseas travel, our towns inundated with visitors.  This continued throughout 2020 and the Autumn and Winter lockdowns, and followed a similar pattern in early 2021.

What we did notice was the significant lack of overseas visitors.  We were also acutely aware of the profile change in our UK visitors as they experienced their first “staycation” for some time.

What we don’t know yet is the full impact on travel for 2022.  Will people still be fearful of travelling overseas? Will we see the return of our inquisitive foreign travellers?  Time will tell.

Funding & Promotion

We are delighted to report that this project is being financed by the North Devon Council, from the ‘Welcome Back Fund’, originating from the European Regional Development Fund.
