Our Mission
To increase awareness of Lynton & Lynmouth and popularise it as a top Exmoor destination for walking, and the health and well-being of everyone.
- Welcome everyone to walk and explore Lynton & Lynmouth
- Maintain and promote our membership of the Walkers are Welcome initiative.
- Work alongside Visit Lynton & Lynmouth to help improve the overall economy of the Lyn Valley, by encouraging more visitors, for the day or to stay.
- Work with other local programs to encourage an active lifestyle and well-being
How we will do this
We will do this by continuously promoting our incredible natural assets and landscape, unique location and the potential for a memorable Exmoor experience.
Use and promote the Walkers are Welcome initiative to gain exposure, and ensure we use #walkersarewelcome in our social media posts.
Connect and interlink everywhere – our visitors need a positive journey through all of our content, it cannot end abruptly – they need fulfilment.

We have the following platforms to help us freely promote walking, nature and wellbeing in Lynton & Lynmouth and the surrounding area of Exmoor. We must use these platforms to increase our popularity, gain more viewers, identify our fan base and spread the word.

- Regular communication: "Monday Morning Pick me up" and "Thumbs-Up Thursday" walks
- Post inspiring images or videos that engage viewers and increase page activity
- Use bold, bright colours, unique places and times of day that are rarely seen, and also well known locations
- Share walks and hikes (epic, leisurely, easy and accessible)
- Talk about the wildlife and nature to be found on our walks
- Promote unique lifestyle experiences over mainstream
- Include special audiences: dog owners, disabled or restricted mobility
Periodic Post
- Share walk and well-being related events and groups
- Promote wildlife and conservation initiatives
- Promote local businesses that provide walking-related services
- Work with others - inspire other businesses want to be part of our 'circle' and endorsing each other - hotel 'walking holidays'?

- Practice the Country Code or current enforcement guidelines (eg CV-19)
Walking groups and well-being
Walking has been described as the perfect exercise for healthy bodies, healthy minds and meeting people.

Social prescribing is a way for local agencies to refer people to a link worker. Link workers give people time, focusing on ‘what matters to me’ and taking a holistic approach to people’s health and wellbeing.
