A Lynton Circular Walk: Woody Bay to Heddon’s Mouth

You are here:

a spectacular coastal walk with stunning views.

Simply, following the South West Coast Path Acorn signposts in YELLOW along this outstanding route.

Distance: 9.6-10km / 6 miles
Time: 2.5 – 3-hrs
Difficulty: Medium

From Woody Bay Car Park: follow the Coast path going west. Your eyes will be treated with tunnels of 100yr sessile oak trees, waterfalls, bright gorse, mellow purple heather, butterflies and Summery smells…

Listen out for the crackling stone chat bird, watch buzzards soar on the warm thermals, hear and embrace the circling seabirds which nest on the rugged cliffs.

Take in spectacular crisp views of south Wales and watch ships pass through the channel…

Pause, perch and enjoy your lunch on a bench with breathtaking scenery from Great Hangman to the Lighthouse at Foreland point (near Lynmouth).

Take a swim at Heddon’s Mouth, make friends with the seals and sip on a well deserved beverage at The Hunters Inn in the Heddon Valley.

To return, take the upper Bridleway back to Woody Bay following the BLUE signposts.

Job well done, Liz x
