A truly amazing experience
This is the 2nd time we have stayed with Richard and Wendy and we absolutely love the Stag Hunters Inn. We were very warmly welcomed on our arrival and even though our last visit was 5 years earlier Wendy and Simon remembered us which was lovely. Our room was amazing very spacious and clean with a stunning view of the gardens from our balcony. We enjoyed a glass of wine while watching the various birds on the feeders. The evening in the restaurant was lovely a relaxing friendly atmosphere and the food and service was absolutely amazing. The steak was perfect and exactly cooked to my liking. Breakfast in the morning was also fantastic the sausages and bacon are all so tasty I highly recommend a full English. Thank you Richard and Wendy their family and staff for looking after us and making our weekend so special.
Superb stay
We have just had a wonderful 5 day stay here. Richard, Wendy and all of the family and staff were extremely friendly, helpful, welcoming and cheery. The accommodation was excellent, comfortable and cosy, a home from home. Good honest well cooked and presented food. Overall an outstanding stay and we look forward to our next visit.
Peaceful, friendly retreat
The Stag Hunters Inn, Brendon is always welcoming, peaceful and the location is beautiful. I used to visit the Inn back in the early 80’s as a child with my parents and always loved it, I have visited many times in recent years with my husband and we both love it just as much. Richard, Wendy and family are fantastic hosts, nothing is too much trouble. We have 2 dogs and they were made to feel just as welcome as we were! The food is hearty and tasty, just what’s needed after a day full of exploring the local area. We are looking forward to returning next year!
Short Break in North Devon
Hubby and I have just got back from a few days in Devon, staying at the Stag Hunters Inn. We have visited here before but not stayed. We stayed in room 14, which looks out onto the river Lyn and it was peaceful to sit at the window listening to the water flowing. The room was very comfortable, with a comfortable bed, plenty of hanging space in the wardrobe and a good sized bathroom. The Stag Hunters is a great base for visiting the stunning Exmoor National Park and its lovely towns and villages. There are a lot of people staying that have been before and some stay very regularly. We would love to go back and stay. We were made to feel very welcomed by Richard & Wendy and all of the family that work so well as a team to keep this great pub running. Throughout our stay, staff were wearing masks, tables etc sanitised between diners. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Perfect Location for Peaceful Break
We stopped with our boxer dog for three night break and had a wonderful time. Staff were all helpful and polite and it really is great value for the breakfast and dinner. Food was all good hearty pub meals and most enjoyable. Contrary to other opinions the real ale was superb. Fantastic walks on the doorstep. Will definitely go back. Thanks to all concerned. An Ideal Base for Exploration
