Thank you so much, and we will definitely be back.

We turned up without booking 4 people and a dog and they managed to find us a table but warned us there was a slight wait on food due to them being busy. The place was buzzing and such a welcoming atmosphere. Food only took 30 minutes to arrive and was lovely, hot, fresh, and a great portion. All the staff were welcoming and their attention to detail is what makes them stand out. They noticed we had run out of drinks whilst eating and were straight over to help ensure we had everything we needed. The fact that this place was busy shows how successful they are and I highly recommend this place.

Very genuinely friendly staff. Food excellent.

We had seafood baskets which seemed to be a popular choice and wow it did not fail to please. Food arrived within a reasonable time and the price including a bottle of wine and beers was under £60. Bargain! Overall, highly recommended.

We really like this pub; the food is hot and plentiful.

In Lynton and Lynmouth for a weekend and have eaten here before so it was a no-brainer to come back while in the area. The menu uncomplicated. Good pub food and for us the most important part, efficient staff who get on with taking orders, serving and clearing while being attentive but leaving you alone to do what you’re there to do – eat, talk, and enjoy yourself. Very much enjoyed this latest meal, a pint of cider, and a long walk back to Lynmouth via the coastal path. If ever in the area again, no hesitation whatsoever to eat here again and perhaps stay at the hotel too.

Another fantastic meal.

I had the seafood basket tonight; it’s normally a toss-up between the piping hot melt-in-your-mouth homemade lasagna with a huge fresh salad and perfectly toasted garlic bread or the whole tail scampi always cooked to perfection, light, and crunchy and never overcooked served with great chunky chips. Tonight I went off-piste and what a great decision! Everything in the seafood basket was cooked to perfection. Lightly breaded prawns and squid teamed up with perfectly battered fish goujons. DELICIOUS. I’ve never had a bad meal here and it’s incredible value for money. In fact, I think it’s too cheap. They could add £10 quite easily and I wouldn’t bat an eyelid. Staff amazingly friendly, locals creating that wonderful pub ambience. It’s just perfect in every way. I even spotted a snooker table.

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend the place.

I stayed at the Crown for a total of four nights and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the place. It's a traditional pub with great beer and exceptional food - try their steak and ale pie or the cathedral garden salad. The landlord and landlady are very welcoming and friendly, I couldn't fault them, the staff or the service they provided to both myself and my boys. All in all wonderful in every aspect.

Why not try our other venue perched high on Countisbury Hill. For more exceptional accommodation, good food and great ales.
