Built in 1900 and gifted by the philanthropist Sir George Newnes, Lynton Town Hall has been a centrepiece of the town for over a century. Designed by the architects Read and Macdonald and built by local craftsmen, the hall cost £20,000 to construct—an enormous sum for the time.
