A gloriously long walk from Lynton to the Hunter’s Inn in the Heddon Valley. Starting in Lynton follow the South West Coast Path along North Walk to the Valley of Rocks.
Wander through the valley along the narrow tarmac lane towards Lee Abbey on to Woody Bay. This is a leafy woody walk as the path leaves the road through Woody Bay.
The path begins to ascend the cliff on the other side of Woody Bay towards the Heddon Valley and Hunters Inn. This part of the path offers the most spectacular views, but it should be noted the path is narrow and the sea-side is quite sheer in places. When the path reaches the top of Heddon’s Mouth it begins to descend towards the floor of the Heddon Valley, with the Hunter’s Inn a short distance away.
The best way to return from Hunters Inn is to either take the Bridleway from Hunters Inn to Woody Bay, this is a super easy and stunning walk.
Or, if you’re totally finished after a pint and food at the Inn – call one of Lynton’s taxis to bring you home.
