Feel like a real Victorian and take a leisurely ride on the famous Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway that connects the two towns of Lynton & Lynmouth. It’s the longest and steepest, water-powered funicular railway in the world and it’s a great fun.
Take the whole family for a ride on a steam train and feel the clickety-clack of the wheels whilst enjoying some beautiful scenery. The Lynton & Barnstaple Railway is the last narrow-gauge railway adventure and is a truly magical experience for the whole family.
Feeling energetic? Challenge yourselves to fun round of golf at Hole-in-1 on the Lynmouth Putting Green or enjoy a game of tennis with some really spectacular views.
After all that exercise you’ll need some refreshment, the great thing about Lynton & Lynmouth is you’re never far away from some great places to eat, drink or shop. There are some great local cafes, restaurants and shops that sell everything from sheepskin to paintings from local artists.

If your holidaying in North Devon to enjoy the great outdoors then exploring the vast moors and wooded valleys of Exmoor is a must. The beautiful and ancient Valley of Rocks and Watersmeet are quite literally on the doorstep of Lynton & Lynmouth and offer miles of walks and cascading rivers to explore. Looking for a day at the beach? Lynmouth has a small beach surrounded by fascinating rock pools. The incredible beaches of Woolacombe, Putsborough, Croyde and Saunton are a short drive from Lynton & Lynmouth.
