Exmoor BBQ

American-style low and slow smoked BBQ from Barbrook, built on local produce and proper flavour

Exmoor BBQ and local flavour

Exmoor BBQ is a family-run pop-up takeaway and events business run by Roy and Natasha, bringing American-style low and slow smoked BBQ to Barbrook and the wider Lynton & Lynmouth area.

Built around a genuine love of barbecue, it combines smoked meats, homemade sauces, house-made sides and a strong commitment to ingredients sourced close to home.

Their approach is shaped by years of learning, travel and hands-on experience, including time spent studying some of the best barbecue traditions in the US, Europe and the UK. The result is food with real depth: bold, smoky, carefully made, and rooted in Exmoor rather than copied from elsewhere.

Why Exmoor BBQ stands out

Exmoor BBQ takes both flavour and provenance seriously. Meat, veg and even the rum used in their Barbrook BBQ sauce are sourced from trusted local suppliers wherever possible, helping keep the business closely tied to the area it serves.

Sauces, rubs, breads, desserts and side dishes are also made in-house, giving Exmoor BBQ a more personal feel and real control over flavour.

Exmoor BBQ for locals and visitors

Exmoor BBQ mainly serves hungry locals year-round, with visitors discovering it through the season. The best plan is to follow their social media and pre-order where possible, as popular dishes often sell out. General opening hours are usually 6.00pm to 8.00pm.

What’s next for Exmoor BBQ

Looking ahead, Roy and Natasha are expanding into fortnightly BBQ street food evenings at Lynmouth Holiday Retreat, alongside large group deliveries to local accommodation and bespoke catering for parties, weddings and events.

They have also teamed up with Hidden Valley Farm to offer produce-making courses, where guests can learn practical skills such as sausage making and gammon curing, then enjoy some of that produce smoked for lunch.
