Rock pooling with Exmoor Rangers in Lynmouth

Rock pooling with Exmoor Rangers in Lynmouth
Rock pooling is a hands-on coastal activity for curious children, families and anyone who wants to take a closer look at life on the shoreline. Set against the rocky edge of Lynmouth, these guided sessions explore the pools, crevices and sea-washed edges where crabs, anemones, chitons and other small creatures can be found.
Led by Exmoor National Park Rangers, the event offers a simple, practical introduction to the wildlife that lives between land and sea. It is a chance to slow down, look properly, and discover how much is happening in places that many people walk past without noticing. For visitors spending time in Lynmouth, it is a good fit for families, nature lovers and anyone looking for something active but not overcomplicated.
Conditions on the shoreline can change quickly, so it is worth dressing for the weather and wearing footwear suitable for wet, uneven rocks. Water shoes or sturdy wellies are encouraged. Nets, buckets and guidance are provided on the day.
Attendance is free.
If you would like to support this kind of work, donations to CareMoor can be made at Lynmouth National Park Centre opposite.
