Walking the Heddon Valley in autumn
One of my favourite places to walk in autumn is … ALL the paths of the Heddon Valley.
Located in the North Devon part of the Exmoor National Park, this whole area is lovingly and expertly managed by the National Trust.
In the Heddon Valley, whichever corner you turn, whatever time of day and however the sunlight falls, the trees and hue are many shades of orange, yellow, reds and purples.
I love spotting moths hidden under leaves or tucked into car crevices and talking to robin-red-breast perching vocally high on crooked oaks.
