Lynton & Lynmouth Scarecrow Festival – A Welcome Return

Bringing Colour and Character to Our Towns

This year saw the much-loved Scarecrow Festival return to Lynton & Lynmouth, organised by Joady and Laura. Their creativity and dedication brought a fresh burst of fun to our streets, encouraging visitors and locals to explore, discover, and smile at the imaginative scarecrows dotted around the towns.

Why It Matters

The Scarecrow Festival isn’t just about scarecrows. It’s about engaging local businesses and residents alike, giving people another reason to wander through our streets, pause outside shop windows, and step through our doors.

These kinds of events help build our PIE – Plenty to do, Interesting variety, Everyone benefits. Each scarecrow becomes part of a bigger story, turning our towns into a living, breathing gallery that delights visitors and spreads footfall more evenly.

Promotional Support

To raise awareness and encourage participation, we provided:

  • Posters for shop windows and community spaces.

  • Road-side banners to catch the eye of passing visitors.

  • A dedicated web page promoting the event and showcasing all participating businesses.

The combination of visibility in the towns and strong online promotion meant the festival was widely noticed – and we have plenty of photos to show just how much support it gathered.

Encouraging Signs

We were delighted by the level of enthusiasm and creativity on display. The number of businesses and residents who took part shows how much appetite there is for events that make our towns more vibrant and welcoming.

Looking Ahead

The Scarecrow Festival has proven its value once again, and we’re already looking forward to making it bigger and better next year. With the foundations now in place, there’s a real opportunity to keep building momentum and ensure the festival becomes a firm favourite on the Lynton & Lynmouth calendar.
