Visit Lynton & Lynmouth

Walking & Outdoor Festival 2022

A Weekend of Walking & Exploring

We’re planning a mini walking festival to celebrate the best of outdoors in Lynton & Lynmouth and the surrounding area.  A selection of walking and exploring activities and experiences have been planned, spread over two days – 21st & 22nd May.

We’re hoping this is the start of a regular annual event, at a time of year when the local landscape and scenery looks especially stunning.

Walks & Activities

10,000 leaflets will be printed and distributed across North Devon and Exmoor, and the event will be promoted on social media.

A Festival Program will be made available nearer the time and given to each ticket-holder.

This event is totally FREE, but the guided activities will be ticket-only to help manage group sizes. Donations for the guides will be welcomed.

We already have some expert guides scheduled for the weekend, including …

  • Jess Twydall (Mother Moon)
  • Louise Reynolds (Equine Echoes)
  • Chris Pearce
  • Julian Gurney (Exmoor National Park)
  • Liz Cwilewicz (Moor Wild Experiences)
  • Clare Hartgen (Magical Mystical Exmoor)
  • West Ilkerton Farm
  • Daniel Whitfield (Cubs & Beavers)
Get Involved …

We need more Guides and activities! So if you would like to be a guide or host an activity during the weekend – let us know.

All Guides will be paid for their time during the event.

All guided activities will be risk-assessed and fully insured.

Getting involved can also mean doing something with your own business that celebrates the great outdoors.  Fingers crossed lots of people will get the message and visit, and when they get here they will be looking for fun things to do and tasty things to eat.

Stalls

Location and permission pending we are planning to have several stalls offering anything to do with outdoorsiness.  Ideally, this will be a Lynmouth location, potentially the Manor Green area.

Walker’s Perks …

We would like to offer Walker’s Perk Cards to ticket holders only, that they can use to get a “discount, offer or treat of the day … from participating cafés, pubs, restaurants or shops.

The offers can be anything and could change each day.  Just display the offer of the day on a poster, blackboard or anything else to let them know what they can get.

Businesses offering a perk will be included in the program of events.

Still Planning …

We’re still planning the event and getting things organised so things may change – hopefully, the date won’t and the weather will shine down on us.
