The Spicy Mare is on the Move ...
Chef Ilona joins the foodie crowd on Queen Street!
After a successful season, ending mid-November 2022, The Spicy Mare will start the move to new quarters – 9 Queen Street in old town Lynton.
Continuing the very popular Tiffin Tin for your takeaway. Take it full of rice, dal and your choice of curry (enough to feed two) to the beach or churchyard, camping or simply at home or in your self-catering unit and return before next-day service. You may also buy one for your very own and return to have it filled.
Menu changing weekly with one vegan and one either chicken or meat for non-veg foodies all procured from the local farm shop. For foodies flying solo, there’s a takeaway for one prepared in a special compostable box with rice, dal and curry of your choice from
the weekly menu.
Continuing and expanding the Emporium side of The Spicy Mare, more Indian pickles and chutneys. New spice blends – whole or ground. Small batch sauces. Indian sweet treats. ‘Curry in a box’ gifts.
Also popular, the freezer menu will continue to be available both at The Spicy Mare and Barbrook Filling Station.
"Much gratitude to all who have supported me through word, deed and purchase of curry - I thank you."
Ilona Pettigrew
I’d like to thank Emma and James Tucker for their generosity and faith in me ( or maybe it’s just my curry) and for a fantastic opportunity that couldn’t have happened anywhere but here.
To all the local businesses and sole-traders who have offered their knowledge, advice, wisdom and support
A special thank you to Di Mitchell who has ridden my verbal rollercoaster with grace and patience since the beginning.
Look forward to seeing you all at The Spicy Mare Emporium!
Ilona
