Parracombe – Challacombe Common – Chapman Barrows Walk by Wander Women North Devon
October 26 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

A beautiful high-level walk around the moorland countryside surrounding Parracombe and Challacombe enjoying beautiful far reaching views. Starting at Parracombe and taking footpaths to climb out of the village and then cross Challacombe Common to reach Barton Town. Then looping back across the common to reach Chapman Barrows enjoying spectacular 360 degree views. Then descending across Parracombe Common before returning to the car park. This walk will include a weather permitting stop for lunch please bring snacks and drinks.
NOTE IF WE HAVE GOOD WEATHER, THE ROUTE WILL CHANGE.
The good weather route will go over access land above Challacombe Common to Longstone Barrow and back over Chapman Barrows. Same start point same distance ish. But the ground will be wet in places and uneven tusiky ground. We are likely to pass Highland Cattle and have a good chance of seeing Red Deer and rare moorland birds. As well as views to locations of many previous wander women walks.
This walk will be co-led by Wander Woman Jaye – thank you Jaye!
