Exmoor Dark Skies Festival: Wild Venison Butchery Workshop, Oare House

Join us this autumn at Root Project for a hands-on wild butchery day with Darren from Exmoor Game School. You’ll break down a whole, traceable Exmoor deer — from carcass to steaks, joints, mince and burgers — learning the full process with practical guidance. As the sun sets, we’ll cook and share a wild venison supper together. If the skies are clear, we’ll dine outside beneath Exmoor’s stars.  The workshop is outdoors, in the barn — so wrap up warm.  For every adult booking, a child receives a free place on one of Darren’s courses, learning to skin, butcher and cook wild food from scratch. £110 per person or £180 per couple.
