
Parracombe – Challacombe Common – Chapman Barrows Walk

A beautiful high-level walk around the moorland countryside surrounding Parracombe and Challacombe enjoying beautiful far reaching views. Starting at Parracombe and taking footpaths to climb out of the village and then cross Challacombe Common to reach Barton Town. Then looping back across the common to reach Chapman Barrows enjoying spectacular 360 degree views. Then descending across Parracombe Common before returning to the car park. This walk will include a weather permitting stop for lunch please bring snacks and drinks.

Terrain: Public footpaths, bridleways, and countryside roads. Uneven moorland which can be wet and boggy in places. Many stretches of steep ascent/ descent. Paths uneven and rocky in places.
Toilets: Parracombe Village Hall – hall will be open with toilets available prior to the walk by kind arrangement of the trustees.
Parking: Parracombe Village Hall Car Park – by kind permission of the trustees. Suggested donation of £1.
